Posted by Kodak Photo Printer

Photo printers have been so popular in recent years, they are the perfect gifts to give your loved ones especially if they love clicking photos. Photo printers are affordable, suitable to carry wherever you go, and they are a convenient way to print high-quality photos immediately but have you ever wondered how these photos are printed right in front of your eyes?

What is 4PASS Technology & How Does it Work?

4PASS is unique, patented printing technology. 4PASS ensures clearer & more vivid pictures. 4PASS photo printers process the same pictures 4 times to dye them in different colors as well as cover the image in a lamination sheet. Another feature of the Kodak Photo Printers is that it lets you print your image in under a minute, isn't that awesome?

Do Kodak Photo Printers Use 4PASS Technology?

Yes, Kodak has patented the 4PASS Technology with three of their models in the market: Kodak has three instant photo printers that include Kodak Mini 2 Retro prints images in a 2.1x3.4'' ratio, Kodak Mini 3 Retro prints photos in a 3x3'' ratio, and Kodak Dock Plus prints photos in a 4x6'' ratio. Kodak also has two different instant cameras which can also be used as instant photo printers are Kodak Mini Shot 2 Retro click & prints photos in 2.1x3.4 ratio, & Kodak Mini Shot 3 Mini Retro click & prints photos in 3x3 ratio.

Kodak photo printers use 4PASS Technology. Let us take a closer look at how 4PASS Technology works:

  1. Yellow layer: This layer releases yellow dye that needs 392 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Magenta layer: the second layer that releases magenta dye that needs 302 degrees Fahrenheit.
  3. Cyan layer: the fourth layering is an image-forming layer that releases a cyan-colored dye.
  4. Overcoat layer: Last, but not least, is this protective layer of clear polymer that seals the paper, which allows it to resist damage from light, heat, and water. This makes your photo look glossy and gives the whole photo a finished look.

This looks like a very long process, doesn’t it? But can you believe that Kodak printers only take up to 40 to 50 seconds to complete this process and give us the photo that we want! Kodak also allows you to edit the photo to your liking in the free Kodak Photo Printer App before printing.

Kodak Instant printers are very convenient and are portable making them user-friendly. All the printers and instant cameras are Bluetooth accessible which makes them that much more special to have.

There are many advantages to having Kodak printers, one of them being- the zero-ink process requires no ink, which means there is no ink cartridge to replace or refill, you just have to replace the Cartridges which is very easy and is less expensive compared to changing an ink cartridge.

What are you waiting for? Go ahead and grab yourself one of Kodak Photo Printers and make your memories last lifelong.
